Im in San Antonio TX, and even in morning rush hour I get about 12/13 MPG. On the highway I get somewhere between 19 and 21 MPG. If I know I'm hitting the highway I always reset the MPG on the computer to make sure its reading right. I found if I dont reset it then it reads 15/16 MPG on the highway.

I just passed 5000 miles and I averaged all of my fuel receipts. My average is 14.77 mpg with most of my driving on the highway. I reset my fuel average on my computer at every tank. It averages 15.4 indicated.

I have about 2800 miles and I get better mileage when I turn off the MDS and run in 5th than with it engaged. I took it on a trip to the VA Hospital which is approximately 100 miles away and ran with MDS one way and without the other and reset the the MPG for each leg of the journey and receiced better on the way up without MDS and a full tank than coming home with less gas and MDS on. I received 21 going up and about 18 coming home.

How do you turn off the MDS? Do you have a tuner? If so, which one?

I have proven to myself that I can get 10mph around town, but I can also get about 15 around town. It all depends on my driving style. I can set the cruise control and get about 20 on the highway if its set below 70mph. I have to agree with others that have said the truck has a Hemi engine rated at about 390 hp and it weights north of 4k. If you really wanted something that got really good gas mileage you should have kept looking. I think that other trucks with the same size engine get about the same mileage give or take a couple miles per gallon. I NEVER believe the advertised mileage---it's just like beliveing what your salesman says.

A co worker has a 2010 f150 4x4 with the wimpyass 5.4 he claims he gets around 12 -13mpg city hwy
you cant expect a 390 hp truck that weights 5700 lbs to get great mileage just think of the wind resistance created, but i feel that the more power a vehicle has the less it will have to work under normal cicumstances and will translate to less fuel burn. If I keep my foot out of it (next to impossible) I can get 16-18 mpg city 22 hwy if I stay under 65. jack rabbit starts will kill your mileage
I have a 1996 chevy caprice LT1 powered 5.7 weights 4400 lbs it gets 24-25 mpg on the highway so a truck weighting 1300lbs more coming close is not bad in my books.

MDS can be turned off without a tuner, use manual and bump it up to 4 or 5!

What rammer52 said. Use the +/- switch on the shifter to shut it off. I normally run in 5 when on the highway now.

i tried the predator with the 87 tune this weekend and i haven't notice any gain at all on mpg. I normally doing good at about 20 mpg US, here 24 mpg IMP without it and after 2 tank i'm still at 24 mpg. Haven't seen any difference in power ether.
