Default WCM and rapid response

Howdy folks, my first post.
I just got a new 2011 3500 mega cab srw Longhorn.
Beautiful truck.
Before I had 1000km on it, electrical problems began to occur. A look revealed it wasn't fuses or burned bulbs, an appointment was made to dig deeper.
They said it was a loose wire and fixed it. Now this is where the problems worth mentioning are just beginning.
Supposidly there was a "rapid response" available for that vehicle, somethig to do with reprograming.
The install was at the critcal stage and allegidly the truck turned itself off, interrupting the download and causing the truck to be dead in the water. No recovery options. There it sits on the hoist.
It seems Dodge has takin this rapid response of the must do list as a result of this happening.
I'm still waiting for new wcm and 2 keys. Unfortunatley, my new truck has been in the shop longer than my driveway.
I have been advised by everyone I talk to, is to retun the truck and ask for a new one. Maybe the lemon laws in Canada are worth looking into.

Welcome to the forum and sorry for your troubles.

I'd give them a chance to make it right, as they are obviously taking responsibility for the problem.

Just exactly how long has it been at the dealer?

Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear about your truck. I have seen this a few times myself. The problem is actually not with the flash but with the way it is down loaded to the truck. When all of the dealers swapped to the witech laptop wireless scanners and pods, not all of them have the proper wireless networks to handle the equipment. So if they loose wireless internet while flashing, bang they just bought you a new wcm. I beleive its the only non recoverable module on the truck. Anyway you explain it, it still sucks!

Holy crap....that's a long time. Why don't they just fix the PCM issue and get ya back on the road? Maybe they've invoked the engineering group to review the issue and provide some input.

Good luck, man. 10 days is a looooong time to be without your pickup!

I bet that they are waiting on another module to be programmed to Rigboss' trucks specs, that could be a lot of programs, the old computer will likely be sent out to get checked over

I can just picture the master computer in Detroit having a major crash or fire, then when a dealership needs to add something as simple as a backup camera or a different radio, because of the master computer being down, it can't be added.
How many vehicles since 1970 are computer controlled, ............. brings a movie to mind, doesn't it

It seems these modules are "paired" with each truck at the assembly stage. We must wait for one from the supplier, along with 2 new key fobs that hasn't been associated with a truck yet. I am so "not impressed".
