Those are extreamly common here in texas. For the most part they are painted black. When I asked why not chrome a fella made a good point that it can be touched up with paint after it is straitened. They are petty hard on their trucks here so it makes sense.

I'm not sure if you will be impacting anything with yours or needing it to protect the truck, If its just for looks then do whatever looks best to you. I'm a fan of chrome ..... But that's just my humble oppinion

I'd go with powdercoated and black on your truck.

I'm not a big fan of brush guards unless you do a lot of farm work or are in muskeg type country (boggy with lots of little trees), the bull bars look better and have a more practical purpose for off-roading, etc. The big question is, do you like chrome? If you do, the chrome ones last longer than the powdercoated ones since it's a harder finish, plus once the powdercoat starts chipping, it will allow the steel underneat to rust. Chrome has been used for a very long time and is the most effective way of protecting steel for impact wear.

I would say brush guard all the way. I put one on my truck and it gives balance to the front end in color scheme. My reason was for function though since we have deer that like to kiss the front bumper of vehicles. The brush guatd will save you about $2500 in cosmetic damage if just one deer kisses your front bumper. It will also give you a great place to mount some night time lights for back roads if you have to travel them at night.
