hi i have a 2005 dodge ram with a 4.7 motor and i have a slight knock at idle but it stops after i give it gas what could this be

Any type of knock short of a little piston slap on an extremely cold startup is cause for concern.

is it common for piston slap on these motors because the motor uses no oil and has excellent power and gets good gas mileage

My 3.7 does it when it's below freezing outside and it's sat overnight. It's very faint and goes away when the engine warms up.

it didnt do this in the summer time and i also switched oil to like the walmart brand could this make a difference
