You wont gain 3-4 mpg, actually may not gain at all. People convince themselves mods are money saving by thinking it will gain mpg. Some cars it does, others it doesnt, but Ive never seen 3-4 mpg.

Sorry to hijack...

BLKSVT- what do you think about your 5100 shocks? Ride? Overall height change? Thanks!

I currently have a magnaflow muffler on stock exhaust but I am about to switch to a Borla cat back system. I've always wanted a Borla exhaust, now I have the vehicle for it.

Buy a muffler and a new Y-pipe and have a local shop weld the two in. The stock resonators don't really hurt the flow of the exhaust.

Should I go with a 14" or 18" Mufflex. Also do you think the aggressive model( rated 9) would be best or one or the more milder versions.

You'll probably experience a little drone with the 14", but it does sound really good IMHO.

you won't be seeing anywhere near 3 - 4 to the gallon. I doubt you will see anything to be quite frank.
Just doing an exhaust won't get it for you. Sure, maybe an intake, tuner, exhaust....that might yield ya 1 or so to the gallon, but exhaust alone work.

The stock setup is pretty good and some of us just replace the muffler to get that sound we love....and I agree....replacing the y-pipe should help flow....

one mod won't yield you huge results otherwise everyone would be doing it to get 5mpg more in this economy!

Get what sounds good to you! I like mine on the quieter side, so an 18" for me! Almost got a 22" but it was wider. Might get it later if the 18" is too much for me.

So the 18" is quieter. I'm not worried about the mpg so much although I do have a CAI and will get a tuner (when one is available for the 2011).
