Default Lifting options: Body or Suspension lift?

Okay, I want to hear you're guys' opinions. Which is better, a body lift or an actual suspension lift? I've seen so many take the cheap route and get blocks, but I'm always afraid it will hurt driveshaft angles and that sort of stuff. I do go off roading from time to time, and it can get pretty rough, so I don't know if taking the cheap route is really worth it.

The reason I ask, is because I'm gonna start saving for a lift. Tax refunds are right around the corner and I figured I can use that to start some funds for a lift. Any suggestions on the best brands for early 3rd Gen trucks? Thanks, guys!

What size lift would you go with? What size tires do you have/plan on getting?

I'm going with the 4" BDS Suspension Lift right now I have fairly new 295 series tires (33" tires basically) and a 6" would make them look like training wheels but the 4" lift will also fit 35" tires so if/when I want to get a bigger tire I could. Rough Country lifts are also good too.

they are good too but for the same lift they were 800 bucks more expensive than RC... for my year model anyways

You can fit 33's on a stock dodge with a 4-5 inch lift it will look funky

I think suspension lifts are better for the truck but Im going with the 5" PA body lift dude to price, its only about $500 bucks for the kit as opposed to a 6" BDS kit for $2000

I don't think it looks that weird. I've seen it on a lot of dodges and I like it. I don't like the stuffed look of 35's

Go with a suspension lift if you want to lift her. If you want to go for the best bang for your buck take a look at a 6" lift, they run the same cost as the 4" lift. The thing is with the 4" lift 35" tires will be the smallest to go really. So if you do go with 35" tires they look great on the 6" as well.

The thing is a good quality body lift is not that bad to go with. If you want take a look at Performance accessories they make a 5" lift which is 2" of leveling and then 3" body lift. So you are getting both kinds of lifts in one. Guys on here have that lift and they really like it and they look good.

If you want to get a good quality suspension lift go with Superlift, BDS, Zone, RCD, Fabtech and Skyjacker. The RCD lift is a very good one and next up would be the Fabtech lift. I have heard bad things about Rough Country so I dont know if that will be the way to go. Honestly for the same price range as a RC lift look at a Zone kit. Zone is pretty similar to BDS suspension lift. I dont know the story but I think someone left one company and started the other......I dont know haha. Just remember you get what you pay for, that motto works for everything you ever buy.

I have a 6" Fabtech lift and I love it. It came with everything needed and it all went in without any problems. The quality of the lift is great and I have no complaints at all. Also the handling and the quality of the ride is great, way better then stock. Thought I would share my personal lift experience with you

Here is what is available for your truck:

Thanks, Scat! I will definitely look into the 6" lift. I think I would probably like that more anyways. I mean, if I'm gonna lift it, might as well get it up there in the air! I'll start pricing it out and see what I gotta do.
