Default couple quick questions for the experts

so i'm doing my research to buy a new truck. right now i am heavily leaning towards a 2010 2500 gasser 4 door, 4x4. i want to do a 6" lift with 37's on 20's. i have a couple questions on lift, wheels and gearing.

1) which lift it better on these trucks? or which one installs the best? on my current titan the procomp 6" kit was the most widely recommended. short arms vs long arms and why one is better? can i upgrade to long arms if i buy a short arm kit?

2) what back spacing and offset will work with a 37x12.5 or 13.5 tire?

3) will i have issues with 3.73 gearing? do i have to have no questions asked 4.10's? is there a trim level or option that always has the 4.10's or is it a crap shoot?

I would not suggest running 37'"s on 3.73 gears. Too much stress on it. I would go with a -22mm offset.

For 37s, I wouldn't look at anything less than 4.10s, just because of the stress on the transmission, and the torque you'll need to get them spinning. 4.56s might even be better, but the 4.10s will get you in a good place. You can look at the topguncustoms, skyjacker or rizeindustries kits, they're all good quality, thought I'm not sure about the short arm/long arm debate.

i was talking with some guys from a local 4x4 forum. one guy said his friend has a powerwagon on 37's and gets terrible mileage from the 4.56 gears. seems to think they are a bit aggressive.

anyone have an idea of how much it would be to re-gear it? does the slt trim trucks have open diffs?

I just answered one of your questions in your other post. But will post it here as well. the trx4 offroad trim will come with the 4.10 rear end and a upgraded suspension

I cant think of all the things off the top of my head other than upgraded heavy duty shocks. I will try to find my build sheet. It also has a non slip differential and a few other goodies like that. I will try to research the differences when I have a moment. All the info will be on the dodge website. If you build a truck on there you will see the options that are standard on the trx and optional on the slts.
