That really sucks about your wheel. I scratched my rim but not the cladding on a curb and sliced a tire on that same curb. The county would not reimburse me for the tire.

I just chalk it up to owning a new truck and getting it's first scratches. Trust me, I baby mine so I cringe at the idea of anything marking her up, but it happens. Besides, now you have a good excuse to dump the cheap chrome clad wheels.

How frustrating ! You have more control and patience that I do , I would have hopped back in the truck and got to the manager right away. By the way did they have the towel dryer guys that stand at the exit ? Wonder if they saw the damage when it occured ?

Even if they did see it, they wouldn't say anything. Their not going to be responsible for costing their place of employment money. Especially in this economy.

some members have been getting rid of their chrome clad wheels & i have seen them posted for sale in here, maybe you could buy a pair of rims to match for less than the $300 plus each, that most web sites will want

Wow that seriously sucks man. This reinforces my decision to never take my RAM into one of those guided car washes. Me thinks you will need a whole new rim, that cladding is bonded on there pretty good. Too bad the car wash place is being difficult however it does not surprise me since they usually have "use at own risk" signs plastered all over the place. Wish you luck !

I'm told that the chrome plastic, on our wheels, is not a replaceable cover... I oringinally thought that if it were that this would be a good idea, as the cover could be replaced when damaged, for less money that a full wheel replacement...but I've been told I was wrong, and that you cannot remove and replace the chrome plastic...you may have to do a complete wheel replacement, hope your car wash will cover it, or your Ins. company, if your deductable isn't too high....Good luck

Well, looks like I am indeed out of luck with this one. It sucks, but im not sulking over it. It's a truck, it gets used as a truck. They cant stay perfect forever.

As far as steaming right back there, from my impression none of them really speak english, so that would of been a lost cause. And I really dont have the energy or time to go hunt these people down and be on the phone all day long.

It is what it is.

Like somebody said before, let my mistake be a lesson to the rest of you! be weary!

Thanks everybody.

I understand that dealerships gotta make a buck for themselves, but I have never had luck or respect for the absurd mark up on ' dealership oem ' parts.

If they want to be competitive and gain my business they have to come back down to earth.
