$25 seems reasonable but $40 is way too much. Have you shopped around to various dealerships and priced the wheel? I got with my parts guys today to price one but without the last 8 digits of your VIN, I can't get the wheel code and check the price.

I called two different dealerships in my area to price it out, both were pretty much the same.

It is what it is, im not too worried about it. Maybe i can get some chrome touch up paint (? if it exists? ) and dab some on.

Thanks though.

I'd try buffing first. You may even want to look into a wheel repair company.

Unfortunately I can almost bet somewhere where you enter the carwash there is a sign posted they are not responsible for damage. I'm surprised that wasn't mentioned in the response from them as well. Sucks. Hope you get the situation fixed somehow.

If they want that much money for 1 replacement factory wheel i'd be going aftermarket & selling the factory wheels on ebay.

Not to mention the extra 40 or so dollars i'd have to scrounge up to get a tire shop to replace the tire and rim and get it balanced. We're talking nearly 700 dollars now.

for a steel rim with a plastic chrome cover on it, i dont think you'll find anybody who is going to jump up and down screaming what an awesome price this is.

I might consider buying a replacement rim and keeping it as a spare if it was under $200 dollars.

None of the car washes around the house cover my Quad completely anyways. I've been doing it myself.. and doing a terrible job. My black quad is dirty within a day or two anyways. The cleanest color is silver.. period. I use to have a Pewter chevy and that is the color of soil in South Florida.

The other day backing into the dump I bang her up good. blew out the left rear taillight. and ever so slighly indentation around the light. Left some yellow paint in, but I was able to get it out with toothpaste. This guy I know got me the oem light for 77 bucks. You can't tell.

It burned for a few days, but you get over it.

Personally I like black trucks because I'm gonna eventually stop baby'ing her and give her hell anyways. And with black - I will eventually get a paint match pen. Black hides damage well I think.

It's a truck. You ever see those guys driving around a crumpled piece of steel on 4 wheels? I like to pull up to them and ask them if it's for sale.

I rolled down the window with soap flying in and got one in but the other bashed forward from the machine. ARGH! I wanted to get out during the wash to see what happened! So, I know how you feel. I was then drying the truck and thought the 'chrome' rims seemed plastic. Oddly enough, while searching for parts for it on Ebay, I did come across a listing for 'chrome' wheel coverings for the 2011. I thought at the time, "Wow, what a cheap way to make non chrome wheels look chrome." I then wondered how they would stay on. So, maybe that is the 'chrome cap' our rims have? They call them skins. Is this what we have?
Here is the link. If the link doesn't work search under 2011 Ram Wheel Skins.

No the plastic covers on your truck are bonded on. As in forever.

I have used my local automated car wash many many times without any problems, I don't even have to fold in my mirrors or remove my antenna... They do a great job also... I think it just comes down to finding a good one with good equipment and employees.... Watch what they do before you put your truck thru... If others are having an issue, talk with some of the customers , you may want to find another car wash... Good luck, washing these large trucks by hand can be a pain
