Default Just installed my Magnaflow catback

I just installed my Magnaflow catback exhaust this last week, I got the 18" single in duel out before the passenger rear tire. Very happy with look and sound but I will caution people on install. You have to remove the 3" pipe that connects to the y-pipe from the cats to the stock muffler. This pipe is pinch welded on and takes some effort to get off. I started on the floor of my garage and could not remove it. I had to take it to a stall and use a lift and impact tools to split and remove the pipe in sections. It was pure undelicate grunt work. Other than that the Magnaflow system went in very easy. Hangs nice and looks great. If you use this kit though you might want to consider just taking it somewhere if you do not have the access to a lift and a decent selection of tools. Here are some pics.

So how's the drone? Gotta have something fierce seeing as how it's a side exit.

The sound is actually quite calm with normal driving, I have had it on for about a week and have not had any drone issues. You do get some weird noises when MDS activiates but nothing that is that noticable.

I got the system from ebay, I found a supplier who would take offers and I got it for $500 with free shipping. Installed it myself but had to spend $3 on a stall with a lift. So total $503.

I was looking at this but was unsure about the look of it on a crew cab. Thanks for the pics! Now I have some thinking to do before I get my insurance rebate check in may...

Also, what is a pinch weld? I did the magnaflow cat back on my charger in the garage so I can't see it being much different...

A pinch weld is basically a notch on the flange and the pipe that once installed they rest against each other like a "v" so when you try to pull them apart they catch against each other and keep it nice and secure.

I put a catback on my 06 Magnum in my garage so I was not expecting any issues either, when I was fighting it off on the lift one of the guys that worked there told me about the pinch weld. Good luck with whatever you decide, I am happy with the system now that it is on.
