I just added a sub and amp to my 07. It never had one to begin with so I needed a box, too. I went Alpine Type S 10" with an Alpine MRP-M500 amp.

Are you looking into fitting one back into the stock location or doing something else?

I'd recommend you look at Alpine or JL subs and JL amps.

I've been thinking the same thing. The factory sounds nice, but I'd like a little more punch.

This is my suggestion for all of you interested....

Take out the sub, get internal box volume (air space). You can do this by filling the box with packing peanuts to the top. Then, take those peanuts and either put them in a square cardboard box or a beaker (something you can take a measurement with). If you use a box, measure the dimensions that the peanuts take up and use something like this Box volume calculator While you are at it, you need to measure the mounting depth of your sub box as well, don't wanna get a sub thats too deep.

Once you have the airspace and mounting depth figured out, then you move onto power requirements and ohm load of the factory amp. I don't know what it is personally, but Google is your friend. Once you have these things, then you go shopping for a new sub.

You may have to try different subs till you find one you like, and then you might want to try an aftermarket amp, sub, box combo, that will be up to you.

There is no end all be all answer to what sub is best, it's about what sounds good to you. Happy searching...

I can't find crap regarding the impedance of the factory subwoofer. Someone take that thing out and measure it so we can recommend an upgrade for it.

If no one finds out the ohm rating on this by mid February, I will be doing an install on an 11 Ram, I will notate my findings..

And for those who are willing to try to find out, you can find the ohms with a simple multimeter.
