Default 1999 Ram 1500 Sport 4x4 tire size

I have a 1999 Ram Sport and was wondering what tire size to go with. I do not have rims or tires on it right now, so I have no idea where to start. I believe it has the stock suspension still.

What size tires and rims will go best on my set up?

Can I get away with using 15" rims with 33 10.50 15's on them?

Thanks, Larry

With my '01 Sport I ran 33's with the stock 17s and they fit fine. Left the rake and no rubbing at all either.

For the wheel size I'm not sure you'll clear the calipers unless the backspacing on the wheels is drastic or you use spacers. I think the minimum for the second gen is 16" on those trucks.

I could totally be wrong though so maybe someone else will chime in?

thanks Rammin

I have mocked up 15" rims on the truck and it seems like they clear everything taking the steering wheel from one side to the other, but I am not sure what will happen when the wheels have tires on them.

I don't think you'll have a rub issue but keep in mind that all 33's are not created equal. Typically, a tire like a BFG or TSL will be bigger than some of the el-cheapo 33's.
