Default Parts question

I have been looking around for various items for my new truck yet I am unable to specify a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. Seems most of the sites I have been to only list up to a 2010. Will items, like a CAI and step bars, that say they are for a 2010 also fit a 2011?

In theory 2009 - 2011 are all the same Generation of trucks and everything should fit. But Dodge has done some mid generation changes in the past and not everything fits across the years.

If you can withstand the mod bug (I know how tough it is to fight) for a few months, you'll likely see a bunch of 2011 things coming out.

I just read here this morning that there isn't an available Tuner for our trucks yet. My advice, really do your research before you buy. Best of luck. You've definetly come to the right place for that question.

I had to educate a parts guy to the fact that DiabloSport said in one of their forums that the 2011 Ram would likely be a different part # (unit) altogether. He was trying to sell me the current one with upgrades later.... not likely i'm gonna do that.

I read that there is a agreement of sorts with Diablo Tuners & Dodge, some dealerships will now install the Diablo or the Mopar Predator, your choice

Body parts are all the same for years 2009 - 2011, most other parts are also the same, but, there are what Dodge calls cosmetic changes, like brake controllers, radios, etc.

I guess the first things that I am looking for are side steps since mine did not come with them and a CAI.

Has anyone with a 2011 bought any of these? Side Steps are my first priorty since the wife and son have to "climb" into the truck as it is now.

I got side step about 2 weeks ago from the dealer for my 2011.

Yeah it does stink that most vendor sites aren't updated to the 2011 or some the 2011 Ram. Give it some time for them to catch up on the newer years. For certain things buy at your own risk using 2010 vs 2011, but for the most part you will be ok.

Modding a new Mopar is quite frustrating. Chrysler doesn't release it's specs like GM and Ford does, so we're always the last to get parts, but the aftermarket is definately catching up since the new generation has become so popular. Just be patient and good things will come.
