Default Vibration Issue

Hello all. I am new to this forum so hoping I am doing this correctly. I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Quad Cab Long Bed that has a vibration issue that has me confused so I am hoping to gain some knowledge from your expertise in this forum.

The truck has a vibration issue that starts about 25mph and lasts through 40mph. The vibration does not go away fullly but sure gets a whole lot quieter and calmer after 40. It is at its worst around 25mph.

The truck is stored in the Winters and does not go off-road. It is used primarly for towing a a few trailers I own, dirt bikes, camper, etc...

The issue is new as of 2008. In 2008 I replaced, drive shaft u-joints. Issue got worse. 2009 I replaced u-joints in the front which required, hub bearings and ball joints as well. Problem still existed.

Thought it was a tire issue but in 2010 I installed brand new wheels and tires. Issue still exists. Also has new Edelbrock shocks on the front in 2010 and stabilzer links as well.

Truck only has 55,000 miles. I am getting frustrated with this issue. I am thinking possibly a drive shaft balance issue. Any thoughts would be helpful.

Is the truck lifted or still in stock position ? Hopefully Maddog will see this . He has a 3rd gen Ram that had a vibration . Took awhile before they got it narrowed down and fixed .

It is still in stock position. The wheels are 18's and the tires are a little bigger but the vibration was there before the new wheels and tires. Thanks to all who might be able to help!

something that;s happennin with me..

Symptoms: alot of vibration when I get to 65 mph or more. I thought the new tires were out of balance so i had them rebalanced twice, at 2 different shops. So now i think it maybe in my aluminum driveshaft...

update:

brought it into a driveline shop and they said it was too long to make a steel shaft for (or right at the threshhold). I told him to test it and he told me the driveline vibrated so much that it shook the machine testing it. He said the shaft itself was ok but the ends (or yokes..not sure) was not. So they are replacing the ujoints (they said it's a bad idea to use greasable ones with zerks) with spicers and the ends (not sure if he meant yokes or the ends of the driveshaft.) Suppose to be ready tomorrow, we'll see how it goes..

Let us know how it goes. I'm looking into a vibration issue myself.

I am beginning to think that it is in the drive shaft as well. Like an unbalanced drive shaft. My truck is a long bed and so the drive shaft is a split shaft. Sometimes the carrier bearing will go bad as well and casue a vibration but I checked mine and have not found any significnat movement or wear in that bearing. I replaced the u-joints at one point a few years ago but suppose it could be in the ends as well.
