Default HE351VE question

Hi, I have this turbo and it's apparently ok but I see that 3 blades seems to be 0.5mm higher than the rest. They don't seem bent and spins freely. What do you think? The machined sides seem to be ok.

It looks good to me, 3 blades with .5mm creep isn't bad and I believe in spec for a trubo. Can you tell what the housing clearance is? That's the more important question. What motor are you putting it on?

I checked again today and with the housing on it never touches the walls and the clearance does not change (it rotates cntral and the clearance seems always during the rotation the same.

I am also not sure in the base of the "bolt" have the same up/down movement. please check in the end of the first third of the clip.

I'm not too sure what you're meaning by that.

first or second part?

1. The i see only the movement of the impeller as in the clip (lets say something like if the impeller is not completely symmetrical). When the housing is on and I look to the exducer it seems normal without any movement whatsoever. The clearance to the housing wall stays always the same.

2. If you see top side of the impeller seems to also move up and down.

Look at the picture right under the polygon bolt

I meant the second part. But for the first part, the slight difference could be to stop harmonic resonance in the blade housing. If the blades are slightly different (but are still balanced) then there is no chance of the wheel resonating and damaging itself.

And for the second part, are you trying to say that the wheel moves up and down along the shaft and nut? If so, There should be some movement as the compressor wheel must take the shock load from the exhaust gasses. I wouldn't be surprised to find that this is a journal bearing turbo if it's has some movement.

Thats ok then.

nevermind the second part....i think it is not something.

It is a journal bearing turbo but the shaft has normal movement that a journal bearing without oil shows. Complete assembly movement: Up down without touching the housing. No in-out movement.

Ok, I think you're talking about seeing a wobble, but without seeing the actual unit, I can't really say. I see a small amount of movement, but if you've tested it with the housing on and the clearance stayed the same, then you should be good to go. I think I've gone as far as I can with what I know.
