Default Flowmaster Super 40 or Super 44 for my true dual 01 Ram?

I'm looking to replace the exhaust on my truck and I'm stuck between a Flowmaster Super 40 and Flowmaster Super 44.

I'm going to dump and put turn downs coming off the muffler instead of taking it back but I'm just curious which of the two y'all prefer or have had experience with or how you compare the two?

I am running the Super 40 with just turndowns off the muffler. It is very very loud. Dont know what kind of sound you are looking for. I believe that the super 44 is slightly quieter. Personally I like it loud but on the highway it tends to drone. some advice is to run the muffler under the bed rather than under the cab as this will reduce the interior noise some. hope this helps.

Im running a single super 44 on my 98 with a 5.2 and it sounds great. With true duals i couldnt tell you how it would sound. I noticed a decent change in power when i switched from my old turbo muffler to the super 44.

my brothers 98 ram has the 40 and it has an alot better cracky rumble it sounds awesome! no joke it sounds like a muscle car passin u on the highway or comin down the road, my truck has the super 44 and the rumble is a little big smoother than the 40 that one sounds awesome also! buuut what i come to know is that they allll sound 5 x's better if you run them all the way out the back so the sound has more time to build up in the system, sounds great.

The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards taking them back. A buddy of mine that just dumped a Super 44 off his Ford likes it, but it drones really loud in the cab too.

How much would I be looking for stainless steel pipes and tips? And I guess is stainless steel necessary? Do I need the stainless steel Super 44 muffler, stainless steel pipes and stainless steel tips?

Also, what's a good diameter for the pipes and tips? 2.5"? 3"? 4"?

Edit:

I guess I'm looking at the aluminized steel Super 44 Delta Flow muffler ($85)

or the diamond plated Super 44 Delta Flow muffler ($95)

the 50 series is heavy duty, puts out a great sound and still allows you to hold conversation in the cab at speed

As far as I've heard the super 44 just has less drone, but i could be wrong. I'm about to put a super 44 on my truck.

i had the 40 series on a chevy i had and it droned really loud, now i have the super 44 on my dodge and i can actually hear my radio lol but sizes for pipes ive allways wanted to get duals out the back with 3" diameter and 18" long tips because the bigger and longer the tip the better it sounds i think and the thing with the stainless pipes and tips it allll depends on your budget but if you dont want those big nice boom tubes rustin get the stainless tips. my truck has 2 3/4" exhaust with just a 3" 90 degree bend i made for now that exits in front of the passenger rear tire but thats what i hope to get soon is duals.

I have to flowmaster 40 3" SI and 2.5" DO. It has 2 cats and it drones. And as far as stainless, if they salt the roads where you live then get it for sure. I know my duals rusted out pretty quick. I wish they were stainless. Don't get chrome tips either, get stainless. Chrome gets a chip in it and then it peels. Get stainless you can always re-polish them when they get dirty.

Tomorrow's install day!

Flowmaster Super 44 muffler split dual straight out the back to my Magnaflow 2.5" in 4" out 22" length stainless steel 15 degree angle rolled tips.

Stoked to finally get this done!
