Default ticking while accelorating

Hey im new here, have lurked alot but have finally just needed to make a post. I have an 05 1500 with a 4.7 that ticks while accelorating and only then, it seems to kick in around 1800-2000 rpms. It runs fine at idle and while reving in park in canot be replicated. All temps and pressures are the same. This truck also no long runs smooth at 45mph and at 70mph its fine at any other speed. And finally when slowing down from about 25-20mph it shakes any solutions to these problems would be great, thank you.

looking for the answer as well. at certain rpm's, the noise is very noticeable. when giving it more gas, the ticking goes away. no leaks, no discoloration on the block.

With the vehicle parked, have you checked for the ticking at the same RPM range it occurs while accelerating? Does it occur at the same RPM range in the various gears as you accelerate thru them? It could be in the drive train.
If it's in the engine, could the noise be spark knock. It can most readily occur when accelerating from a lower vehicle speed while in a higher gear, if the transmission doesn't downshift.
The shaking could be a wheel balance problem. Even if you don't notice it when accelerating.

Don't forget it may be a bad exhaust gasket. Mine had 3 broken bolts and ticked only on first start up and acceleration. Replaced the broken bolts and new gasket, ticking gone.
