Default Traction Control / ESP BAS Chiming Randomly

Traction control and ESP BAS lights turn on and chime intermittedly. On my morning commute (30 - 40 mins) it will go off anywhere between 1 - 10 times. The warning lights go on & off with each chime. Occassionally, the lights will stay on after which the chiming stops. This is driving me NUTS!!!!

We put a code reader to it when the lights were on, but it did not come back with any codes.

It appears to occur more in colder weather for some reason. Someone help me out...please...

If your reader only scans the PCM, that would explain why you didn't get any codes. The ABS module is where you need to start looking.

Good point...the scanner we have may only be for the pcm.

Any suggestions on where to go to check the ABS for codes? I am wondering if a scanner will be able to pick up the codes whether the lights are on or off. It is just tricky because the lights only stay on every once in a while.

The codes will be stored in the ABS module even if the light is off. Some parts stores have scan tools that are ABS capable and they can help you out.
