Default P0305

I got a check engine light today. Went to checker to read it and it says its a P0305 misfire in cylinder 5. What can i do to fix this problem? What are reasons for it?

Wow! Could be a number of things.

A few off the top of my head:

1. Bad, fouled, or improperly gapped spark plug.
2. Improperly installed/attached or damaged coil.
3. Clogged or malfunction of fuel injector.
4. Leak in head gasket near #5.
5. Low compression.

The list goes on.

Its weird cause I did the spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor about 6 months ago. And it just started throwing the code tonight. Where should I start to try to figure this out?

Could be a bad plug , wire , cap , low compression or maybe even a bad intake plenum gasket . Are you using oil at all ? With the motor off open up the throttle and look down into the intake manifold to the floor and see if there's any accumulation of oil . If there is , more than likely you bad to reseal the plate on the bottom of the intake manifold .
