i have a 79 ramcharger with a 727 and a 203 transfer what is latest year i can go to replace the trans and put in a part time case that will bolt right up with no mods its got a 360 in it thanks

I'd go to dodgeramcharger.com...they have some great info and links there that may be helpful in answering your question. I've never dug into the powertrain differences in the Ramcharger...ask me about the full size GM Blazer's and I got that info at my fingertips! LOL

I have a 1979 Ramcharger with the part time transfer case NP 208. The 1980 and up all had this transfer case, and it will fit. The 1980-83 had the manual locking hubs, and better larger wheel bearings. If you can find a 1980's donor , you can use the transmission, transfer case, and front end, and save one of the "Poptops".
