Unhappy Electric Running Boards Stopped Working

2007 Dodge Ram 1500: I experienced a problem today where the electric (retractable) running boards just stopped working. checked the fuse box where it indicated a fuse should be for the running boards, but just a hole, and doesn't look like a fuse can even go in the slot (not metal connectors). Is anyone aware of a fix to this?

I am sorry I cannot offer you an answer, but do have a suggestion in that you might include the manufacturer's name and model if applicable. It might help others to troubleshoot and/or offer suggestions.
