Changing the ignition switch....does that mean you need a new key(s) and re-program?

Default Follow up after reading this forum topic

The problem I was having with my 04 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 was when I turned my truck off everything would shut off as normal. Then about 10 to 30 seconds later my blower motor would turn back on. Most of the time I had already gotten out of my truck, so in the morning I had a dead battery. This was becoming a big problem. So I decided to research this problem on the internet. That is what brought me to this fourm. After being here I saw this problem was fairly common. The only problem was, I am no mechanic, but I like to try and fix things to save money. Anyway, If you are having this problem Steelman512 explains what to do really well in an earlier post. After reading this entire forum topic, I decided to go to Autozone to purchase the ignition switch, which cost around $28. My old ignition switch did have the word VALEO written on it. I put the new ignition switch in following the advice from earlier posts and MY PROBLEM WAS FIXED. Thanks for the great information on this forum.

RagTopDodge - I figured out by reading this topic, the ignition switch is different than the ignition key switch. So by just changing out the ignition switch you DO NOT need a new key or reprogram. I hope this helps others.

Here is what I found at the ignition switch. My AC would go off when I tilted the steering. I replace the connector assembly.
