Default Problem with ram- dealer less then helpful

Out of the blue yesterday i started experiencing a problem with my ram 1500 sport. Has 8000 miles on it.

I can best describe the feeling as ' towing 5000 pounds while in 4x4 '

I went in to the dealer saying that it feels like it's stuck in 4x4, all they did was take a peak and go ' no, it's not in 4x4 ' and called it a day. They called me up saying my truck was ready, i get in drive it around - problem persists.

I had one of the service guys drive it around and he said he didn't feel anything, but something is most definitely drastically different. I had my girlfriend drive it around earlier, and she most def. agrees something is different.

Any ideas what this might be ?

Again, it feels like im towing a load- has lack of power like its struggling

the steering feels heavy and tight, and almost wants to just track straight.

Usually the truck feels light as a feather, but not any more.

Now they are closed for the weekend, and my two local dealers do not have any slots open until Tuesday, both do not give out loaners. Im not sure what to do.

Insight?

That's what I insisted, but according to the dealer who had it for nearly 8 hours says that it is NOT stuck in 4x4.

Though, while driving - switch and 2wd, i switch to 4-High, and really do not feel any difference.

Maddog hit my question. Have you used your eBrake/parking brake this winter? Another question is, did you ride with the Tech when he took it out and said he couldn't find anything?

Are your RPM's any higher than normal? You can see a struggling engine by looking at the Tach.

any recent offroading? mud / debris caught up on the rotors? i agree with the hung parking brake as well... put a camcorder on the deck and drive over it and look for the front driveshaft spinning on playback - that'll show what mode your transfer case is in
