Default Looking for a good intake manifold

I recently got a '06 2500 with the 5.9 24V Cummins. It's got an auto tranny which I'm sure I'll be asking about a bit later. It came with some aftermarket stuff: S&B cold air intake, turbo-back 4" exhaust (no idea what brand), EGT gage, bags and air shocks on the rear, a brake controler, leveling kit, and a gooseneck hitch in the bed. That's all I have identified so far. Anyway, it seems funny to me that it doesn't have an aftermarket intake manifold. I've been shopping and can't decide on which one to get. I do not want to delete my intake heater so the Thrasher is out (which I was considering). Is the S&B a good one? I've read up on the CFM+ intakes and am a bit sketchy about the composite material they are made of. Anybody got one or have experience with one? I'm looking for some data from folks that use these things all the time vice some manufacturer who is trying to sell his product. Thanks.

Honestly, I put an intake on my 05....and saw no notable gains or improvements, just a lighter wallet. Do you have plans for bigger injectors, CP3, fuel delivery? Sounds like your rig is set-up nicely as it sits. Do you have a programmer?

If you're gonna do anything, I'd look at something like the Banks High-Ram to replace the stock elbow. But I can't say I've seen too many people swapping out the intake manifold on the build out here.

I don't think the truck has been fooled with other then the exhaust and cold air intake. I plan on a programer. I have my eye on a smarty jr. I am real new to the diesel performance world and am very interested in learning about it. Basically, I don't know squat or at least that's how I feel. I had not made any drastic plans other then simple things like an intake, programer and a set of gages. Once I get educated I'll look into more complicated things. I'm all ears for a good schooling from anyone who want to give it to me. I also don't want to get too froggy until I can afford to upgrade my trans.
