Default 2.5" Daystar Leveling Kit- Pictures Included - 2010 Big Horn 4X4

Gents,

I had the 2.5" Daystar leveling kit installed yesterday. A few observations:

1. It's not as dramatic as I had hoped. My brother-in-law had a 2.5" put on his 4X2 Titan which really lifted his.

2. I only obtained, at the wheel well, just under 1.5" of height, an inch less than I had anticipated. Between the rear wheels and the front wheels, and their respective wheel wells, there is still just over an inch discrepancy.

3. I had it installed at the local Dodge dealership. With alignment, it cost $525. I did not want any argument that I voided my warranty despite any federal legislation that states the contrary. My mechanic would not touch it because it is a new generation Ram.

4. No shutter in 4 wheel drive, nor are there issues at highway speeds.

5. The kit brought up my headlights, which is a plus.

6. I think that when I eventually wrap the wheels with all terrain, I will stick with the 33" as opposed to squeezing 35" tires.

7. Overall, though not as dramatic of a change as expected, it is noticeable, the ride is nice, I like the slight rake, and I am pleased.

P.S. Sorry, iPhone photos with a dirty truck.

Like I said, the change was not too dramatic. I am satisfied but not thrilled. There is an increase in the height, but definitely not 2.5". The dealer service man called it a "almost leveling kit."

Thanks for the pics and the write up. Great to see you are happy with everything. Ya I agree with the 33" tires rather then the 35" tires.

So this was the Daystar kit, eh? I did one on a previous truck and it levelled it right out. Interesting result.
