Default Diablo Sport Predator vs Trinity vs Superchips cortex

I ordered a 2011 Ram R/T and when I get it I am planning on putting a tuner on it.

Mainly looking for performance gains as both have fuel saver tunes and from what I have read most people see very little increase in fuel economy.

So from people who have used them, which would you recomend, whats the difference between the predator and the trinity?.. is it just the extra 1/4 mile times and 0-60 times on the trinity over the predator?

and why DS over Superchips or the otherway around?

Thanks in advance!

Congrats on the truck! As for the predator and trinity, depending on where you shop the trinity could cost twice as much. Before you invest in that kind of money it's best to go to their website and get EXact details on differences. Can't comment on superchips.

I have posted a few different comments about this topic because I have a Diablosport predator and have also used the Superchips tuner on the same truck. I feel like the Superchips tuner has far superior transmission tuning when compared to the Diablo. However I felt the engine tuning was a little better in the Diablo, more tuning options and can be custom tuned if you install a cam or any other major upgrade. The Cortex is the same tuner as the Flash-pack 3815 you just pay more money for a warranty. You can turn off the mds with the Superchips and Diablo tuners. With Superchips there is an Economy tune and a Tow tune which the Diablo does not have. Diablo’s Predator has 87, 91 and a 93 octane tunes which can be adjusted to fit your taste. My favorite Superchips tune was the tow tune with 91 octane and mds off, got good mileage and had tons of torque. Diablo is a good tuner but I'm gonna switch to the Superchips tuner, the transmission tuning is so much better than the Diablo which is more important to me than a custom tune. Can't comment on the on the Trinity.

The Predator and the Trinity will tune the truck the same way. the only thing is the Trinity is prettier. You can use it to show gauges and it has cool functions like, 1/4 mile time and stuff like that. If you want to spend the etra money for a "toy" then go for it, it is cool, but the Predator will give you the same performance gains.

I personally have the DS and I love it. I have noticed a great gain in performance with it. I plan on doing some heavy motor mods so I want to have that custom tunability to get as much as I can out of it. If you do not need a tuner for this and just want to add some power then the Superchips is a good tuner.

Appreciate the information greatly.
Now reading both superchips and diablo sport sites, it looks like power/tq gains are higher from the diablo tuner. Aside from that quality of tunes are they both very similar I read somewhere the DS causes pinging in the engine alot more? and I plan on doing a Ram air CAI and Borla Cat back system like I had on my other truck, but dont plan on anything transmission... Do you think superchips would be better option?

I have not had any issues with pinging with the DS. I personally feel like the Superchips made a bigger difference in power. I have a Magnaflow cat back and a composite bfi intake and I will be getting the Superchips soon. As far as the transmission goes, the DS feels sloppy and lose the SC is fast and solid. The transmission is the ONLY reason I am going to be switching tuners, I hate the sloppy shifting that feels like something is slipping with the DS. If you don't plan on any custom tunes or a cam swap in the near future I'd say go Superchips. The SC has better tunes in my opinion.

preditor and superchips are similar, but if you ever plan on doing any custom tuning with it (which is recomended if you do an exhaust and intake) thenpreditor is the way to go, the trinity is an animal all on its own, it stays in the truck unlike the other 2 which are plug and play, the trinity allows y9ou to make changes on the fly and get real time feed back.
