Default 2005 Ram Vanity Mirror Lights

Hi everyone, I am looking to replace all my interior lights to LEDs and wanted to know how to get the lens on the vanity mirrors off. I found the bulb size and am going to order it now. Just not sure how to take off the lens without breaking something... Thanks for the help everyone and I'll post pics as soon as I do the swap.

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Insert a small flat-bladed screwdriver on either side
near the top or the bottom between the vanity lamp
lens and the lamp housing of the sun visor .
3. Carefully pry the lens outward until it unsnaps from
the lamp housing.
4. Using small needle-nose pliers, carefully grasp the
bulb and pull the base out of the lamp socket.

INSTALLATION - BULB
CAUTION: Always use the correct bulb size and type for replacement. An incorrect bulb size or type may
overheat and cause damage to the lamp, the socket and/or the lamp wiring.
NOTE: Vehicles equipped with optional vanity lamps have a mirror with a single lamp that is integral to each
sun visor. Each lamp is independently controlled by an integral switch that is automatically actuated by the
mirror cover. The bulb types and service procedures are identical for each of these lamps.

1. Using small needle-nose pliers, carefully grasp the
vanity lamp bulb and align the base of the bulb
with the socket in the lamp housing of the sun visor.
2. Push the bulb straight into the socket until the base
is fully seated.
3. Insert one tab on the top or the bottom of the lens
into the appropriate slot at the top or bottom of
the lamp housing.
4. Flex the lens far enough to engage the loose tab
into its slot in the lamp housing.
5. Reconnect the battery negative cable.

It wouldn't copy the images , but hopefully this will help ya out .

Thanks a lot! This should definately help me. Should be getting the bulbs in sometime today. Oh yeah, just changed out the dome & map interior lights yesterday and they look really great! The only issue I have now is for some reason dodge rams don't like LEDs so I have to get a resistor and attach it to the main dome light if I want to turn them on individually and not just have them come on when the doors open. The guys I talked to at the Recon Light store said all I should need is a 6 ohm 50 watt resistor on the dome light for all to work properly. A little info if anyone else is looking to do the same. Thanks again for the help and I will post the pics as soon as I can.

Default Updated Lights

OK everyone, here are the new lights. The interior lights (dome & map lights) are from RECON and the license plate bulbs are from V-Leds. I think from I may stick with V-Leds.com to get the rest of our LEDs. They are a very reasonable price and are very bright/very good quality. The company is also very personable and will do all they can to help you out. These bulbs are bright enough for a big difference but not too bright to hurt your eyes. I definately recommend upgrading your stock bulbs to LEDs...I still have to get a resistor for the interior lights but for now I'm not having to use them at night other than for opening the doors. Let me know what you think of the pics.
