Default 02 ram front diff.

anyone know where i can find a front diff. for a 2002 ram at a reasonable price? i had a driver side cv axle go out now the shaft comeing out of the diff has all the splines ground off. a local mechanic told me i cant get just the shaft i have to buy the whole diff. if this is bad info please let me know, thanks.

its ground smooth where the shaft coming out of the differential connects to the cv axle.

If it stripped the axle and the gear , you can purchase a spider gear kit from the dealer .

thanks, i'v never worked on a differential so ill probably replece the whole thing, i found a salvadge truck identical to mine with rollover damage and 90000mi for about 1500 shiped. my heater blend door is bad too so it may be cheeper to just buy a parts truck, take what i need then scrap the rest.
