Thumbs up Have a Spray in Liner or Want One? Read this

If you don't have a spray in liner but want one have them remove all plugs before they spray the bed to save yourself a PITA if you ever want to remove those plugs. Don't forget to put the plugs back in when the liner is cured so they don't stick to the liner.

For those that have a spray in liner already, here's the procedure for removing the plugs without making a mess of your liner like I did.

First we have a shot of the plug before removal.

This is what happens when you do it wrong, like I did.

To avoid a messy appearance use a very sharp knife or razor blade. Slice through just the liner, not the plug. Pull some of the liner material away and begin slicing until the whole plug is exposed. If done right like I did on the second plug, you will get a nice clean opening with nice edges on the liner. It will look like this.

Thank you, Brian as I want the spray in and we were contemplating that. One other question, what did you do with the top of your bed, along the edges? If we remove the plastic pieces then you can see holes in the metal where the plastic was adhered to my truck through.

Paris,

The liner is what is called "under the rail". It does go over the top of the front which is a good thing.

The side rail caps should be removed for exactly the reason you mentioned, the holes.

It can be done, but you'll have to fill in the holes in the rail left after you remove the caps, before they spray it.

The place that'll do my spray in liner is a Linex place. They remove all the plugs and the bed bolts before they coat. Then they spray the bed. Before re-installation, they coat the tops of the bolts. When they are done, the plugs go back in their normal places without being painted in.

They do good prices as well...thank god
