Default Need a new A/C Compressor Clutch

So I was driving around today and all of a sudden it smells like somebody burned out their clutch, I think nothing of it and keep driving. Once I'm a ways away from where I was when I first smelled it I knew it was my truck so I pulled over and opened the hood and sure enough there's smoke coming right out of the A/C clutch pretty much from the inside of it. My A/C works fine although I've stopped using it since, when I turn on my A/C the clutch cycles on and sounds really bad all squeaky and it's obvious that it's toast. My question is if anybody knows where I can get one, I've been looking around on the internet and haven't really found anything. I'll probably end up going to the dealership to see if they have one. I've seen they can cost anywhere from 80 probably for one in bad condition up to 180. I'm going to be doing this myself, of course I'll read up whatever I can before I attempt it, but my dad had a 97 1500, I have an 01 and he replaced his clutch so I know what to watch out for and what tools I'm going to need. Just wondering if anyone has experience with this and if so do you know any reliable websites I could check out. Thanks for any help

You cannot buy just the clutch from MamaMopar.. An AC shop can press the clutch out of the compressor and swap it out for you though. I had mine done this summer when mine did the same thing you're describing.

I bought a compressor from a wrecker for IIRC $150 and they pulled the clutch so they didn't have to worry about contaminating the AC System. Total bill for the clutch swap, re-claim and repreasurization of the system was about $500..

You can actually buy the clutch on eBay for about $35 and replace it yourself.
Keep it Mopar, buy Mopar Parts.

I am completely disgusted every time I think about having to take a distributor cap off of one of these trucks -Screamintrashcan
