Default Help me..Starts then Immediately Dies

Hello everybody..Got some issues..2003 1500 4.7 4x4 quad cab...The truck will crank,start and die..Tach makes it to maybe 500rpm then dies..Doesnt even run for 2 seconds...
Here is what i know,
1. Good fuel pressure 40 to 50 lbs-key on engine off..Not sure running (it dies)

2.No codes present--Checked with three scanners-Snapon Solus,Actron and Autoxray..The Bi-Directional Functions work well with the Solus,so i know the Pcm is at least flowing..

3.Did key on/off/on/off/on and odom. read "done" then engine light flashed 10 times..

4.Not equiped with SKIM (key disable).Black key, pulled colum covers--no module around lock cylinder..

5. Once it shuts off,key still in run position but the starter will not engage again until i cycle back to off for a couple seconds.....

6.i have checked all fuses and relays..I have switched relays back and forth as well..

7.ASD relay is clicking as it dies..Thought maybe Crank sensor problem, replaced with no change..

8.As i said i have to cycle key after dieing from run to off before starter will engage again but if i leave the ASD relay out the starter will engage and crank good.Of course it wont start because the ASD is out..

Sorry about rambling but wanted to be as thorough as possible..

Any suggestions, any help would be greatlly appreciated..I am thinking Ignition switch or PCM..Anybody got a good Flow Chart to check the PCM and ignition switch..Thanks again...Travis

Check the wiring to the ignition switch in the column and look for poor connections or breaks in the wiring.

Thanks for the Reply..I checked the wiring and it all looks good..Is it normal to have to reset the key back to off before trying to start again?..So if you turn the key to the run position and just bump the starter without starting engine, can you keep bumping starter without reseting key to off?..

No, that's not normal. That along with a clicking ASD relay makes me think you have a bad connection in the start/run circuits.

Its Alive!!! This makes no sense..I replaced a coil last week with a Standard Ignition..This morning i was unpluging one at a time and trying to start it..When i got to the new one and unplugged it,the truck runs now..Does the ignition coils have to be programed to the PCM?

No, they don't but I wonder if one that's internally shorted could be screwing with the rest of the secondary ignition.

Dude, you are a genius!! I have the EXACT same truck, the EXACT same engine, and the EXACT same issue. I have not found anyone else with the same issue until now, and I would have never thought of unhooking each coil and cranking...

Well, when I got to #8...BAM!! She fired right up, music to my ears after going nuts trying to track the problem down. Granted, this was AFTER I replaced the ECM, which the dealer misdiagnosed. Fortunately, I didn't buy it through them so I'm not out too much...and I have a spare ECM!

Did you replace your coil yet? Did that fix it completely, or was it a wiring issue?

Thanks again for the awesome tip, I just drove my truck around the block for the first time in 2 weeks
