Default Anybody used a FS-2500?

The FS-2500 is a bypass filtration unit made by Filtration Solutions.

Thinking about investing in one of these things. Wanted to know if any of you diesel guys use them. Most of the website testimonials are from truck drivers and heavy equipment operators but they seem to work well. Appearantly they make a set up for engines as small as the diesels in the Jeep Liberty.

The website is: www.fs2500.com if your interested.

I watched the demo and read over just about all the info they have on their website. I am interested in it but want to get some more real world opinions before I get one.

Longshot, do you follow the recommended 10K cartrige/20K oil change or do what alot of the testimonials are doing and extend you milage to 40K or more between oil changes?

I have an amsoil by-pass unit I just installed but I'm not fimiliar with the 2500. I read on another forum that the kits are vehicle specific and are a bolt on deal. What I didnt like was it bolted to the frame under the passenger side door with only a frame gusset to protect it from road debris however it looks to be very well made. The rubber lines were another thing I wasn't crazy about because they are snaked around the frame, zip tied and it looked a little tight. I mounted my amsoil unit under my cold air intake where it will be protected while keeping the -4 braided stainless steel lines short and up high out of harms way. I think any extra oil filtration will benefit these emission equipped frucks. Im dpf deleted, egr unplugged with a smarty jr tuner, using amsoil 15w40 and so far about 300 miles with the new filtration system the oil looks like I just poured it in. I drive about 3k to 5k per year and do annual oil changes.

The FS-2500 website has an application for the 04-07.5 5.9L that mounts the system beside the valve cover just forward of the intake manifold. It looks pretty well situated and keeps it pretty protected. They also offer braided stainless line as an option. What did your Ams-oil unit cost you? I'm going to look into it.

My uncle is an amsoil dealer and he gave the unit to me. I have about 100 bucks in the fittings and lines. I didnt research any by-pass system for our trucks but I have other family members that have used these amsoil units and have nothing but good things to say about them. The 2500 kit I saw on the other forum was for 2007.5 to 200? and mounted the filter under the truck as a bolt on unit. I guess they had to mount it there because of the cluttered engine compartments. Nonetheless, adding extra oil filtration of any type is worth doing.

I would run the Amsoil unit over the FS2500, but that is mostly because I run Amsoil in my truck, from the diffs, to the trans to the t case to the motor, and I know it works, which makes me want to go to them for the bypass as well. It's on my list of mods, I just haven't done it yet.

I run the Fs 2500 on 2 of my trucks 1 of them a diesel sled puller i beat it pretty good. the FS is the only filter to filter out to 2 micron no other bypass filter does that NONE , not even the amsoil. they might make a great oil but as far as the filtration they do not come close. I went and talked to the FS company there r diesel guys there just like us, the owner was very helpful and has had independent studies done with a few other bypass companys with the FS on top call down there and talk to Randy Fields he is the owner he will really help u out. Just my 2 cents ty ( 2009 diesel power challenge competitor)
