Default Tranny failure poll

I recently had 4th clutch pack burn up at 80K miles on my 2010 3 months out of the 5year 100K mile powertrain warranty. Custom tranny shop I had rebuild it claims every 545 tranny that comes through the door "and they see a lot of them" they claim all have the exact same failure with the 4th gear clutch pack being stacked too light.
Just wondering how many people have had tranny failures on any of the 545 5 speed autos and at how many miles and how it gets used like daily driver pavement queen tow beast ect.

We don't often see 545 mechanical issues; most of the time it's something electrical. If you have 80k on the clock, you're 30k past the warranty coverage, regardless of time.

Sorry I put the wrong info in first post, it actually had 5/100k power train warranty but 5/50 rolls off the tongue so much easier lol.
Dealer checked and it just fell off warranty in October.

Tranny shop said that the 545 behind the 5.7 hemis always have the 4th gear clutch pack burned up they restack them with the same clutch setup as the diesels 68 rfe tranny to make them last. They said they rarely see electrical issues come through but I imagine most deal with that before seeing them.

My brother's dealership sees several 545/65rfes a month with burnt clutch 4th gear packs, though failed valve bodies and electrical connectors do come up more often. Anytime they have someone who's modified the truck in a performance way they have been recommending them to talk with me to get advise on what they can do, lol. I've talked a few guys about how to drive their trucks with the trans in mind, and I've talked a few now into talking with Mike at L&M. Most don't think they'll roast another trans with the different driving style, so I think I'm helping.

Since you're only 3 months out of warranty and the mileage isn't particularly high, it might be worth your time to give Chrysler a call and see if they will help you out.
