Default Yet another Cam thread.

hey guys, i know im most likely not the first to ask about a cam but hopefully you guys can help. I would like some feedback on a cam and head package for my rc, 2wd, c.a.i, magnaflow cat back, shorty heads, and a diablosport tuned truck. Im thinking of going with inertia motorsports spartan cam (113LSA) and their performance heads w/ 6.1 springs and pushrods or their spartan max (113LSA) and the same heads. Im going to custom tune it but would like to keep stock injectors, torque converter, and throttle body. Whats your thoughts? Keep in mind its a daily driver..i dont tow much at all but dont want to lose too much towing power.

I run the spartan with inertia's bv heads...but i do have the other goodies (ported tb, 2800 tq verter...) , I do tow and this is my daily driver (05 with almost 200k miles)... I started with a 6.1 cam and then upgraded to the spartan when stu first made them, i initially was going to do the spartan max but i wanted more power down low (for daily driving)...with that said, the max would be a good choice for an rc..

i've been told to stick with stock valve heads cnc ported when going with the spartan and 'max' cams. due to losing the air volicity...hearing quite a few different opinions so far. Chris White, who is an installer for inertia up here, says my safe bet would be a 114lsa spartan...not too big has great mid range and has room to grow if i want to do the converter and gears down the road. The 114lsa spartan works well with stock heads. he also says the spartan def. doesn't sound stock. maybe i should call stu and get his thoughts too????

How do the Spartan cams sound at idle? I know the comp cams 260 and 268 have that really nice lopey sound. Performance isnt bad either, how do the spartans stack up?
Also anyone who has a vid of a hemi with a spartan idling would be awesome thanks!

So spartan 114lsa and the performance heads it is!...Should still be a solid daily driver. Also going with 6.1l springs, pushrods, and timing chain kit with OEM replacement lifters. Putting the order in soon...doing the install in April. Next year 4:10 gears perhaps???
