Default Anyone haul a UTV with thier Quad cab?

Curious if anyone has hauled a UTV in the bed of thier Quad cab? I have just purchased a Polaris RZR, and have been told the weight will snap the cables on the tailgate (as the wheels sit half way on the gate)? I have hauled a few quads and never had any issues but this machine is about 300lbs heavier. Wondering if anyone has had any issues, or if they guy was full of BS. Thanks.

It makes sense. That's alot of weight on the tailgate. Maybe you could reinforce the tailgate by adding thicker cable, or chains.
Everyone I know that has a UTV uses a trailer.

Another option would be to install a bed extender and remove the tailgate when hauling the UTV.

Or put down a couple 1" sheets of plywood that go from the front of the bed to the end of the tailgate when it is down. The plywood would spread out the load not put it all on the tailgate.

Thanks for the ideas. I have a trailer, but sometimes it's just easier to load in the truck and take off for a quick trip. I know there are tailgate supports you can order online. But for some reason they only make them for Ford and GM.....Might just have to deal with using the trailer for every trip. Tailgates can be very expensive!!!
