Default Newly installed HID kits not working properly in two new Rams

My father and I just had the dealership install HID kits in our '11 Rams with the 4 headlight system. They installed H11s in the low beams and I'm not sure what they installed in the fog lights. I leave my headlights in the auto sense position. The fog lights are working fine, however, sometimes when I start the truck, the right side low beams (when looking at the truck) don't light up. I never have a problem with the left side light but the right side doesn't want to cooperate. Some times it does work but sometimes isn't enough! Both my father and I are having the exact same problem! I've been reading over a few other threads regarding HID installs and I keep seeing the topic of a relay harness pop up. What exactly does this relay harness do, did installing the relay harness cure similar problems for other people, and where can I get one from? If this is the solution to the problem, I will order it and install it myself because the dealership of all places should be aware of this and should have installed one in the first place.

Thanks!

From my understanding a relay harness stops the flickering issue by providing a better power source to the HID's. I've been doing some research myself due to a similar flickering but only when accelerating and i've come across something called a canceler.

You should just need a relay harness, I did the same in my 2010. The fog lights are H10. Here's my install thread with pics, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask!

Thanks for the direction! I'm going to open 'er up this weekend and have a look at what the dealership did for myself. I called the service department today and they said that they installed a relay harness with it but if they did, it's installed wrong because there is nothing other than the battery cables connected to the battery posts. I'll post up what I find...if I find that there is no relay harness installed, where's the best place to order one from?

Thanks again!

You won't have any light out messages, I don't or haven't once! You should be able to get the relay harness from your light manufacturer or if not, HIDextra has them for 16 bucks. You only need one for the low beam circuit.

Yes it takes the signal from (1) side and no it doesn't light the warning light (at least on my 2009 with a relay harness).

just an update. I resolved my HID flickering issue on my 05 dodge ram by purchaing a can-bus HID canceler. No need for a relay or capacitor.
