Default 4wd hopping

I am looking for a fix to the hopping that my truck does in 4wd. I have to use 4wd to access remote sites on a daily basis and when the tires spin the truck hopps and shakes and makes it impossible to get anywhere. Anybody know what the cause is and possible solutions?

what type of surface does this occur......most hopping is caused by operating in 4WD on high traction surfaces such as road or hard pack dirt etc......other options would be that you have different front and rear gears.....

I notice it the most in the snow of all things! You cant even pick up any speed, the moment the tires spin the truck jumps and makes bad noises. We have a 2011 and it does the same thing.

More than likely what this is (happens to me when plowing at the end of a push sometimes) is one or more of your tires on opposite axles is actually getting traction very breifly and the rest are not and it is the traction comming and going in the one tire that creates the hop.
Solution, when the tires start to spin on the hard surface, ease up on the throttle. Constantly making it hop/skip is a real good way to tear up your drive train.
I might have learned that the hard way in the past.

^^^ I agree, when plowing at my work site our trucks will "Hop" sometimes.

So between tight turns (both front tires turn at the same rate of speed) and tires grabbing a bit of traction for a second might be your hopping demons. But alas we are not there and can not see whats going on so these are educated guesses.

So have I and have experienced the same thing with them as well. The ford was the least to do it, but I have had all big 3 do it. It's just the moon and starts and such lineing up just right.
