Default Header fabrication 08 4.7L!

What's up new to forum. Hope I'm in the right place! So Im sure everyones aware that no one makes headers for the 08 4.7.. So I want to get some opinions of how u would make them? I'm a certified welder but I've never made headers before sure there's a lot of research with flow involved so let's keep it simple as possible, the easiest sounding route to me would be to custom order flanges to fit my tuck from a header shop, and to take a set of 08 hemi headers cut the flanges and weld up the new flanges there shouldn't be any clearance problems because theres more room in the 4.7.. What do y'all think or would you have a different way of going about this opinions please!!! Tired of waiting someone gotta step up!

^that's exactly what I intend to do, eventually. You may nee to make slight primary tube adjustments if the exhaust port spacing isn't exactly the same, but that'd be minor fabrication. I got a price on custom flanges and if I sent them a set of gaskets they would make them. I can't remember if it was $100/ea flange or $100 total. You can buy pacestter hemi headers for under $300 brand new (not stainless). Do the cutting/welding then get them ceramic coated and you will have about MAYBE $750 tops into the headers, which isn't that bad. Or get a used set of SS hemi headers and go that route.

Try to get smaller primary tubes. There are different sizes, I think 1 3/4" and 1 7/8". The smaller would be better on the smaller displacement 4.7L.

If you do his please follow up. I want to do mine but don't have time now, but want to do it eventually. I have a MIG and my best friend has a TIG.

Yea Im deffinatley going to give it a shot! And thanks for the reply atleast someone else had the same idea so maybe it's do able lol. I heard the only difference is the flange pattern so it should line up fine but if not your right shouldn't be a big deal. Also, did u find any long tube 1 3/4" pace setters that's what I'd like to go with incase you remember any good sites off the top of your head for parts?

I'm looking at building a set for my 03 Ram, and I'm working on exhaust flanges. Let me know if I can help.

^what do you have for flanges? I'm definitely interested. The 08+ flanges are different, but who is making yours?

I'm drawing up the flanges in Cad. Then I will have the flanges laser cut.
I really don't think stainlessworks will help out to much, based on demand.
As for the machine shop, will probably be high as well. If you are interested, I will finish up mine, then go buy some 08 gaskets, compare the differences between the two, and make changes as needed.

Stampede.

I got a quote for either $100/ea flange or $100/total from IIRC http://www.mandrel-bends.com/catalog...Fc1QOgodOzsANA

They said I just needed to send them the gaskets.
