You did install the thermostat with the bulb of the thermostat in the motor ? If it were installed incorrectly you would have issues .

Installed the same way the old one came out. Spring down.

***Update***
Got everything together to do the plenum pan gasket replacement. Only problem is I am having a heck of a time trying to get the fuel rails to pull off! Any suggestions? I don't want to put too much force on them, scared I will break them. I already took all the plugs off of all 8, just can't get them to pull out of the plenum.
