Default Header back

So i have a 2003 ram with the 4.7 in it. It had a wicked leak at both exhaust manifold so I bought some headers. Long story short, I have JBA stainless shorties, a factory grade cat, and a Thrush Welded series on it with 2.5'' pipe right off the headers. There definitely are noticeable performance gains especiall low to mid, but accross the whole RPM range. And that sweet spot around 3000-3500 is a little sweeter. As far as the sound goes, That Thrush better break in some time soon. It sounds good and is nice and toned, but it just isnt loud enough for me. For the last six months I have bee driving it stock manifolds, no cat, and the 3'' single in dual out Flowmaster super 44. It was too loud but I guess I miss it. Anyways, I was curious to if the Thrush Welded series had a break in period? I once had a Cherry Bomb Turbo muffler on it and after about a month it broke in. But I cant really bitch. No more leaks, and small but noticeable performance gain....

not too sure man but if you want to be extremely loud and have the good tone you might want to invest in an electric cutout they are fairly cheap for what they do. I have a raceland e-cut out. Here is the link. http://www.racelandus.com/p-68-3-ele...st-system.aspx

Not sure if the Thrush has a specific break in period but I have noticed with Flowmaster, Magnaflow and Corsa systems sound different after some mileage is put on them.

Yup, Flowmaster definitely goes from crappy to crappier the longer you own it. Then it rusts completely through and finally sounds good!
