Default novice ? about tuners

Here is the question. When these tuners (ie: super tuner) are installed do they remain in the vehicle or are they removed after the tune is set?? If they remain in the truck are they permanently mounted like an extra guage? Where are they connected? OBT port or what? I don't really want to start messing with the interior. Thanks Ed

If you're talking about a Predator it does not stay in the vehicle (unless you want to keep it in your glove box). You plug it in, install the tune (program) into the computer and then disconnect and store the tuner. Now with the Trinity and some other brands I'm not familiar with the heads stay in the truck so you can use them as gages or make changes on the fly, etc.

The Diablosport Trinity stays in the truck . It can be mounted in the vision of the driver . It stays plugged into the OBD service port . There is one offered for your year truck by the way . Heres a link . http://www.diablosport.com/index.php...isplay&pid=151

Thanks for getiing back to me and sorry it took me so long to get back. I am currently trying to decide if I want to put out the money. Wondering if it is really worth it in the long run. I am mostly looking for a little better gas mileage and possible better performance. In you opinions does it make sense to lay out the money for what I want?

Definitely.....You can spend $350 on a tuner that gives you 55ftlb or a cai that gives you 2....it should be very straightforward lol...

I have the superchips and love it. I've actually heard great things on this forum about the diablo sport, however, my friend had one on his ls1 camaro and had alot of problems with the timing being too advanced during start up(he would have to try and start it 3 or 4 times to get it to fire), then when he floored it it was way rich and fuel would come out his exhaust....he switched to superchips and ran better at the track and got rid of those issues. With that being said, I've never used diablosport, and do not exclusively promote superchips(even though they are my hometown tuner co), lol
