I can get a HYPERTECH POWER PROGRAMMER 3 for $120. I that a good deal, is it worth it? Has anyone used this programmer before, any good? Any help.

I have one i'm selling on CL for $200.. maybe i should lower the price! All it does is let you tune for 87 octane for 8hp or 93 octane for 17hp & 31tq..Change speed limiter for speed rated tires and add or sub. RPM in which i don't know what that good for. And thats about it..

I haven't tried one on my HEMI. I went with the Predator.

My only concern about buying used is whether or not you can update it at their website or if it's VIN locked to the previous vehicle and you won't be able to download the program to your truck. I've read a few threads here where this has happened. For another fee, Hypertech will restore the unit with a current program.

So be careful!

It will also input firmer shifts on the transmission. Be leary about unmarried programmers.
The Hypertech PPIII is NOT internet updatable. I have liked my tune for the last 4 years. Gas is getting to the point where I have de-tuned it back to 87 octane but left the other tunes on.

I've had a HTIII for years. Was wondering if I should sell and go with a predator.
Then again My truck is an 03 with the PCI bus.
I looked on the DS website and it lists it as compatible, but I don't want to get a predator if I can only tune the same things as the Hypertech III, because of the difference in PCM control.
Maybe I'll copy and paste this to Diablo Sport and see what response I get.
