Battery Box Removal
|
Has anyone tried removing battery boxes in dodge trucks? I have a 1996 Ram dually and I'm trying to get to the cruise diaphram under the driver side battery box. I've removed all nuts and bolts I can see but it won't budge! It looks like it is also fastened to the wheel well, but the bolt head is round and flat!?
Trying to fix the cruise control. The light comes on but it won't set. Mechanic buddy told me to check the vacuum hose on the diaphram.
Enjoying the forum!
Thanx

From under vehicle, and in front of left front wheelhouse, remove 2 lower battery tray nuts.

No, not really. It just takes a bit of maneuvering to get it out.

How does the clips work that hold it in? Do you push that button in the middle to release?

You may have to drill out some of those plastic push-in rivets so having a few on hand would be a good thing. Most auto parts stores carry Dorman fasteners. Not sure but I suspect those are at least a 1/4" diameter rivet.
