The HP rating is SAE at the crank.

Most cold air intakes end up providing the same results. I have an AFE Stage II. I have also used Volant systems with good results. Lastly, I think the open filter type, like the K&N FIPK, flow really well.

It's pretty much a tossup in my mind.

Just don't get one with a cheap filter. Some of them come apart and get sucked into the engine. Not a good thing!

Best is a relative term. Closed systems are better for off-road use because they won't allow as much dirt and debris in. Open systems tend to make a bit more noise (kind of like an old Quadrajet carb). People will argue wet vs. dry filters all day long and I'd prefer a dry filter with a MAF fuel system but since Chrysler uses speed density, it's not really an issue. Plastic tube or metal? I prefer metal because of the looks but there's no real peroformace advantage for either. It all comes down to preference in price, looks and name brand.

Take a look at Air Flow Innovations they make the BFI which is a bad ass intake. I just ordered one myself...well a couple months ago. It has a 6" body and it sucks in a lot of air. There is a waiting list for these since they are very popular. I am not 100% if they have it for the new Rams but I thnk they do.

If not then look at either the Mopar or Volant intakes they are very good. I have a S&B intake right now and I actually find it very good. The S&B is supposed to produce one of the best power gains, compared to other sealed box intakes.

09, 10, and 11's all have damn good CAI's from the factory. I'd love to see someone do a dyno test comparing any aftermarket CAI with the factory ones.
