Default Favorite Duty Station?

I've been in the Army for 18 years and have been able to travel all over the world. I was lucky enough to get an assignment working for the US Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand for 3 years. I've lived in Panama and Germany, but Bangkok had to be the most culturally eye-opening experience I have ever had. Everywhere I went was something completely new and strange. I hope to go back and visit someday.

AF didn't have Thailand on the list when I was in, so I went and visited in 2006.

My favorites would be anywhere outside the CONUS. So I spent a lot of time either TDY or PCS overseas.

I married my husband and then he became a soldier. He/We have 17 years in.....out of the 17 we liked Fort Eustis, VA and Germany the best! That being said, I don't think we've been to the best of all duty stations:
He did:
Basic-Fort Jackson, SC
AIT-Fort Eustis, VA
We did:
Fort Hood, TX
He did:
Korea
We did:
Fort Campbell, KY
Hanau, Germany
He did:
Kosovo
We did:
Fort Eustis, VA
Fort Campbell, KY (again)
He Did:
Iraq
We did:
Hunter Army Airfield
He did:
Iraq
Afghanistan
Covert Missions.
I love the traveling aspect of it! Don't like all the LONG deployments. Almost done!

My fave duty station was Castle AFB, California. It doesn't exist anymore but when it did, it was the home of the Strategic Air Command 93RD Bomb Wing, the 924TH Air Refueling Squadron and the 84TH Fighter Interceptor Squadron (ADC) and was a cool place to be.

I got to go up in a lot of different aircraft.

I did take an R&R (or I&I as we called it) in Bangkok and I agree...what a city!

Brian is that your truck in your sig? If so, mine looks the exact same.

Maddog, it is a small world. I did my training at Fitzsimmons Army Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. We used to go to Lowry AFB all the time for dinner.

Very small world indeed! We went out to Aurora a few times on my second trip there, to an installation for some testing but I'm not sure if it was Fitzsimmons or not.

That might have been Buckley Field/Air Force Base, it's been a few different names in the past.

It's been too long ago for me to remember the name exactly.
