I don't think there is any waiver like that that would hold water if you filed a claim with the VA for an illness related to the asbestos exposure.

That waiver simply means you can't sue them, if it even holds water since you were doing it under orders.

Correct, you may not can sue them, but they sure owe you compensation.....I've heard of similar things with agent orange during Vietnam.
