Default Vibration/Shimmy

Hey guys. Looked around for a thread similiar and could not find a good answer. I have a 2010 Crew Cab that has a vibration or shimmy on the highway at 60+. Don't feel in so much in the steering wheel as you do in the seat. That tells me it may be in the back end somewhere. It's enough to shake anything sitting on the seat as well. Anybody have the same issue or advice? Have not been to the dealer yet; wanted to get some good background first.

Does the vibration diminish after 10 miles or so of driving? If not, then you probably have a radial imbalance in the tires and they need to be road force balanced.

I agree with Ram Tech, sounds like a tire out of balance, I would have the balance checked first.

In my 04 quad cab I had a vibration at 40+mph. The tread looked fine to the naked eye, but I found that the tires had not been properly rotated and they had started cupping. So it was time to upgrade.

I had all four road force balanced last year after dealing with a vibration that we just couldn't find in the drivetrain. Had a bad tire. It was replaced, all four road force balanced and it's been smooth ever since.
