Many times I will purchase something for a lot of money only to be disappointed with the quality or otherwise. On very rare occations I go cheap and get surprised. Such is the case with the Tonnopro tri-fold tonneau I just purchased and installed. I looked at the Extang Trifecta at my local accessories shop, and while the hardware is certainly better than the Tonnopro, the cover itself is every bit as high of quality. Truly impressed for the price.
Here is a shot from the back:
As I mentioned, the hardware does not seem to be as good as Extang's, but is very similar to the Lund tri-fold. It does work well and they provide an entire new set of components if one breaks. There is an issue with the bed rail covers as they protrude below the actual bodywork. In the future I will remove some of the plastic to prevent the hardware from pulling up on the covers.
This is my first tonneau and wasn't sure I would like it, so I didn't want to spend too much money. Also, if I do like it I will either keep this cover or upgrade to this:
I like the idea that tri-folds can be completely removed, hardware and all, in a matter of seconds. This being said, loving the Tonnopro right now! Will post updates on how it weathers.
