Default ram acting weird

Whats up guys last night i went to go get gas at hess because i was on an 1/8 of a tank so i filled up and went to leave. When i pulled out i stepped on the gas and it wouldnt go above 1000 rpms even when i would put it to the floor nothing would happen it would just bogg down so i went home shut the truck off and turned it back on and everything was fine. I was wondering what could have caused that. I was thinking maybe from running the tank down so low and sucking somthing up to the fuel filter. Any ideas of what could have happen?

A clogged strainer isn't my first guess. Did any dash lights come on when this happened? I'd be more inclined to suspect an electronic throttle control problem. Have the PCM scanned and see if there are any related codes.

if it doe's it stop the truck put in park turn off whait a second or two and restart it will reset if it keeps doing you will have to take it to the dealer and have the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR replaced, the Generation 3 Ram hemis where known for this problem and Dodge really don't have an answer for it

Thanks a lot guys. Once i turned it off and waited a second and then turned it back on it has been fine for the last week with no problems. But now all the sudden i was sitting at a stoplight and my check engine light went on. I called the dealer about it and they said to give it a couple days to go off and if not come in. He said that if the check engine light starts blinking than ive got a problem. truck is driving perfect though?

the guy you prolly got a hold of at the dealer had the 'ole "loose gas cap" in mind when he told you that. These damn vehicles now a days require perfect fuel tank vacuums or they throw codes. After owning 2 rams for a combined 4 and half years, the only time my check engine light has come on was for a "loose" gas cap.

in your case however, this is not the case and the above input should point you in the correct direction. I would definitely think about getting your PCM checked for anything that might track the problem down for yah.

ga'luck!

I had that happen to mine once. As you did, I shut it off, and it worked fine again. Later had a check engine light come on (a while later), I flashed it and it's just the sensor on the egr valve, $40 bux. Haven't fixed that yet cuz it isn't affecting the truck much really. Something to look into though. Hope that helps...
