Default Body Mis-Aligned

Alright so I bought my 2003 Ram single cab about a month ago and I could tell that it had probably been in a minor incident but as long as its fixed right it doesn't bother me...Well almost everything was fixed, but the truck was hit on the passenger door and now I can see where the cab has been shifted over about a half-inch. And now the bed doesn't line up with the cab. The bed sticks out farther on the passenger side and not far enough on the driver side.

My question is... Can I jsut loosen the four body mounts and try to push my cab back over or is there much more involved than that?

Sure, give it a shot. You can also try the same thing with the bed.

That doesn't necessarily mean it was in an accident. I had this problem with my 08 right off the lot. I didn't notice it for about a week. There is a small ding between the back window and the corner of the cab where it looks like when the bed was being lowered onto the frame it somehow swung a bit and was knocked off-center. The dealership fixed the bed but would not touch the dent. They said they had to loosen the cab and the bed to get everything lined up properly.

Okay...well I tried it last night my brother has an impact wrench but even with some free all soaking it wouldn't budge. It was a smaller impact so I'll just have to find someone with a bigger one.

Yea I've heard of people having them be off just because before but i can tell my passenger door and fender were replaced or repainted and I've gotten underneath the truck and the passenger door frame was a littled crinkled and black primer overspray was down there so it makes me thinnk that it was probably the cab that was shifted from a minor inccident.

Just wanted to be sure I wasn't openeing a can of worms by jacking with the mounts. I guess as long as they get back tight they're okay then
